Lola Escámez

Lola Escámez is a contemporary Spanish artistfrom Murcia, now based in Portugal, where she lives and works. With a degree in Art History from the University of Murcia, a diploma in Sculpture and Restoration from the School of Arts and Crafts of Murcia and a Degree in Curating Course from the National Society of Fine Arts of Lisbon, Lola’s artistic journey is as diverse as it is profound. Her expertise spans artistic research, restoration, sculpture, and painting, showcasing a unique blend of technical precision and creative vision.

Throughout her career, Lola has contributed to prestigious restoration projects at significant historical sites, including the Roman Theatre of Cartagena, the Real Casino of Murcia, and the Parish Church of Cernache in Coimbra. These experiences have deeply influenced her artistic perspective, inspiring her to continuously explore the interplay between traditional techniques and modern creativity.

Latanihas brought her unique wine art to remarkable cultural events in Portugal. In Alenquer, she showcased her captivating solo exhibition Á Tona: Monstros e Vinhedos at the Museu do Vinho, exploring themes of myth and vineyards through her signature technique. Additionally, her work gained recognition in Lisbon at the National Society of Fine Arts’ end-of-year collective exhibition, where her piece Cíclopes was on display for nearly a month, captivating audiences with its bold storytelling and evocative use of wine as a medium.
