Hypereia

The work transports us to Hypereia, the mythical island of the shepherd Cyclopes, also known as Sicily. This is where Polyphemus, the Cyclops whom Ulysses visited seeking hospitality and help, lived.

Through her textures, the artist evokes sensations and emotional states associated with the place, such as the strength and violence that characterize this land. The eyes, a recurring symbol in the artist’s work, stand out in the composition as a reminder of the triumph of good and evil.
